The channel expansion project for 300,000 DWT vessels at Lianyungang Port is a key initiative to boost the port’s handling capacity and support the growing demand for large-scale shipping. The works involve dredging the extension of the main channel and the Xuwei approach channel, with a total dredging volume of about 11.24 million cubic meters. Once completed, the expanded waterway will allow the safe passage of 300,000 DWT vessels, greatly improving efficiency and competitiveness.
As part of this major project, Nanjing Deers was selected to supply high-quality floating rubber hoses. First, floating rubber hoses in multiple diameters, including ID600 and ID750, to suit different dredgers engaged in the works. These hoses ensure efficient and reliable slurry transport while remaining buoyant on the water’s surface. Besides, we also supply a batch of dredging pipelines, including steel pipe and discharge hoses.
In total, four dredgers are carrying out the excavation tasks. To meet their requirements, Nanjing Deers provided hose systems with reinforced structures and abrasion-resistant inner layers, capable of withstanding the demanding conditions of continuous dredging.
Despite the demanding construction schedule, all hoses were manufactured, tested, and delivered on time. This allowed dredging work to proceed smoothly and without delay.
